What is UV Lighting?

Where does it come from?

uv light.png

Ultraviolet (UV) light is a type of electromagnetic radiation that naturally originates from the sun, while artificial electromagnetic radiation can be found in tanning beds, black lights, germicidal lamps, amongst others.

UV light is transmitted in particles at different wavelengths and frequencies, which are known as electromagnetic spectrum (EM) and they’re measured in nanometers (nm).

Which type of UV Light can inactivate COVID-19 and other pathogens?

The short wavelength UV-C specifically at 254 nm, can inactivate 99% of virus and bacteria including COVID-19.

UV-C, also known as Germicidal UV light (GUV), can alter microorganisms’ DNA and RNA, inactivating them and preventing them from reproducing, resulting in the rapid elimination of virus and bacteria colonies, thus reducing the risk of transmission significantly.

- Upper-Room GUV is a safe means of air disinfection that is possible in rooms with high ceilings, reducing disease transmission significantly.

- It can constantly and safely disinfect large volumes of room air above occupant's heads at once.

Air 1 purifies upper room air in occupied spaces, reducing the risk of cross-infection by virtually eliminating infectious airborne microbes. It uses germicidal UV lamps and a series of specially designed louvers to direct UV rays to the upper portion of the room. It must be installed on the wall at 7 feet or above.

Can                kill COVID-19?

CLEAN LOGO.png

All bacteria and viruses tested to date, including other coronaviruses, respond to UV-C disinfection. Some organisms are more susceptible to UV-C disinfection than others, but all tested so far react at the appropriate fluency, including SARS-Cov. Learn more.

UV-C disinfection technology plays a role in a multiple barrier approach for reducing the transmission of the virus, causing COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2, based on current disinfection data and empirical evidence. Learn more.

Disclaimer:
Avoid UV germicidal radiation to the skin, eyes, or body parts when possible. Prolonged, direct exposure to UV germicidal light can cause temporary skin redness and eye irritation but does not cause skin cancer or cataracts.

Safely targeting the right Wavelength

Air 1 UV-C energy at 254 nanometers (nm) is projected across the upper room air (7 feet height), thus continuously being purified.

Bacterias and viruses are destroyed when are carried into the ultraviolet field by convection currents or air circulation.

How it Works?

AIR 1 uses germicidal ultraviolet (UV) lamp that works on a specific wavelength of 253.7 nanometers, which can deactivate the DNA and RNA contained in tine airborne droplets that can transmit diseases from person to person.

Once the DNA and RNA of a microbe disintegrate, it loses its ability to reproduce (replicate itself), quickly resulting in death and elimination of viral and bacterial colonies. Learn more.

Disinfection Coverage Area

The disinfection area range is up to 750 sq.ft. The disinfection needed to inactivate pathogens is relative to the amount of UV power at a particular position and distance from the UV lamp. This is called Irradiance and is measured in µW/cm2. Learn more.
